“Let’s be honest.  I don’t like capital campaigns.” – Mike Madding, Senior Pastor of The Cove Church at 2012 Generosity Learning Experience.

Do Mike’s words resonate with you?  They certainly did with the 200+ church leaders in attendance that day.

For over 10 hears I had the privilege of serving churches with their capital stewardship campaigns.  I loved helping church leaders fund their mission and vision through this type of spiritual journey.  It was, however, and uphill climb because pastors simply did not like doing campaigns.  I always said it was like going to the dentist.  It was helpful and necessary.  Pastors simply just did not enjoy the process and many put it off until “they had to do it”.

There is a better way.  A way that is easy and enjoyable.  A way that is not a burden to pastors, church staffs or their people.  A way that is not all-consuming or as one pastor put it, “a 3-year prison sentence”.   A better way is called Thrive.

Before going there and in hopes of presenting a balanced perspective, I want to share five things I learned about capital campaigns:

  1. A reputable capital stewardship campaign company will help you raise more than you can on your own.  I can even recommend some very good organizations if you are going to use outside help.
  2. A capital stewardship campaign done well can be a transformational spiritual journey for a church.
  3. The consultant, not the company nor the fee, is the most important element in selecting a partner.  It’s all about relationships.
  4. A capital stewardship campaign should be the catalyst for and seamlessly woven into your church’s ministry plan.
  5. You don’t always need to pay capital stewardship campaign prices.  For instance, a church with an average weekly attendance of 300 people with a $350,000 annual budget will likely pay anywhere from $22,000 to $35,000 depending on the services.

However, there are times when hiring a high-priced consultant is not necessary.  In fact, there are times I would advise against it.  The following are those times:

  1. When you need to raise less than 1 times your annual budget.
  2. When you are campaign experienced.
  3. When you have smaller projects such as launching a new campus, renovations, additional staff or simply need to an influx of cash to fund your budget.
  4. When you have a talented, experienced and strong staff.
  5. When you have cash flow issues.

It is during these times that I would like to offer an alternative for you.  The Rocket Company offers an incredible product that called Thrive for $999.  However, if you use the discount code BRIAN you will get 20% off and receive it for only $799.

Rather than paying tens of thousands of dollars, having countless meetings, having your ministry calendar become all-consumed and being saddled in a 2 or 3-year commitment, there is a better way.

Thrive is a 120 day campaign that isn’t a campaign.  We provide you all the how-to content and done-for-you resources you need to do it yourself.

Here is the timeline for the Thrive Campaign:

30 days of preparation.

30 days of engaging your leaders.  We call this drip.

30 days of engaging your congregation.  We call this drop.  This includes your commitment event.

And finally, 30 days of follow up.

The Thrive campaign includes all you need to deliver the campaign internally including the following done-for-you resources:

  • 10 coaching videos from Casey Graham.  It is like he is onsite with you.
  • Sermon outlines.
  • Promotional letters.
  • Promotional emails.
  • A campaign calendar of activities you need to do.
  • Bumper videos.
  • Powerpoint slides

We even provide phone support should you have any questions.  You will likely talk to me.

And the best news is that Thrive will only cost you $999.  That’s right, well over $5,000 cheaper than the fee paid by the smallest of churches to a campaign company. However, if you enter the discount code BRIAN you will receive an additional 20% off.  Only $799!

We can even break it into three payments if you would like.

If you need to raise capital this fall, now is the time to act.

There is a better way to raise significant capital.  It is called Thrive.  We look forward to serving you.
