As a member of the Catalyst Blog Team and INJOY Stewardship Solutions, I will be bringing you live updates from the much anticipated Catalyst Conference in Atlanta, GA.  The theme for this year’s conference is Change Is Coming.

Catalyst always begins by conducting a series of Labs on Wednesday for church leaders.  The final session was conducted by Carl Lentz, Lead Pastor of HillSong Church in New York City.  The following are 28 Leadership Quotes and Lessons from his incredible session on being sheep from Psalm 23:1-6.

Also, before reading, make sure you check out the announcement from INJOY Stewardship Solutions shown below about a FREE webinar I will be conducting on October 16th for churches needing to raise capital in 2015.  Now onto Carl’s thoughts:

  1. God’s doing great things all over the globe.
  2. Preach like a dying man to dying people.
  3. You’re doing better than you think you are and God’s doing more than you think He is.
  4. Part of being a Christian is telling yourself the truth whether you like it or not because the truth is the truth.
  5. Whether the world likes it or not we need a Shepherd.
  6. I need Jesus leading my life. I need the Shepherd.
  7. We no longer have to chase the right situation. All we have to do is chase the Shepherd everyday of our lives.
  8. I no longer chase anything but the cross. Jesus is my desire. I’m only chasing Him.
  9. When you see Christian leaders chasing things, it’s a symptom that they can’t hear the voice of Jesus.
  10. I wonder if people would put as much attention on Jesus as they do apps.
  11. Forgetting helping people on their journeys. We’re too busy rerouting ours.
  12. If Jesus is the real voice in your life, you won’t miss the supernatural chasing the spectacular.
  13. It’s easy to get your hours off the only ministry that matters – people.
  14. Sheep don’t strive. Christians are the biggest strivers in history.
  15. I love leadership conferences but we need more followership conferences.
  16. This is a simple message. I don’t have any other kind.
  17. I know girls who say, “I want a man of the cross.” 9 months later they says, “I just want a man with a tattoo of a cross.”
  18. A good shepherd always corrects. Correction has become a cuss word.
  19. We have a lot of people who cannot be led.
  20. A little correction saves you from big problems.
  21. Our generation loves the grace side of the Shepherd. And they fail to read the entire scripture.
  22. You gotta fight over-sensitivity that leads to over spiritual inactivity.
  23. Maybe you were brought to Catalyst not to get an outward victory but get an inward correction.
  24. Use your limp to shed some light.
  25. The devil has tricked you in thinking your limp disqualifies you. I think your limp qualifies you.
  26. The Shepherd always protects.
  27. Sometimes you need to take a praise break for those times God protected you from you.
  28. You’re not stepping out. You’re stepping behind because God goes before you.

Can’t wait for Day 2 tomorrow.
